Block printing is a fun, multi-step way to reproduce images and create patterns.
This workshop will teach you to conceive, draw, carve and print your own original artwork. Using block printing techniques, you can print your own patches, clothing, tea towels, and paper projects.
We will develop our understanding of design, work on drawing, and learn to carve safely.
I encourage anyone who attends to bring their own ideas of what they would like to do, and will help to work with you to bring these ideas to life. Whether a band or club t-shirt, a logo for a personal project or fine art, all ideas are welcome.
The class will take place in partnership with the Merrymeeting Arts Center, whose goal is to facilitate art for everyone. At the end of class, we will have the opportunity to display work in the MAC gallery and share it with the community.
Class times: Wednesday July 6, 13, 20, 27 from 9am to 12 pm
You can attend a single session and learn how to carve and print, or come to several and work on a a more complex project -
Cost: $50/class - You can sign up for one class or more
