The mural at the skate park was a collaborative project involving the town of Bowdoinham, the Merrymeeting Arts Center, Bowdoinham Community School art teacher Karen Goetting and Arts Alive volunteers, and artists Manon Whittlesey and Jane Page Conway.
Lee Parker put a call out for artists in 2015 and started the creative process, which evolved until its fruition in 2017 with a grant from the Maine Humanities Council to cover materials.
After a couple of years working with the community to establish a vision, each student in the elementary school was provided a two-foot piece of woodshaped into a skateboard form, and pffered a restricted two color palette. the boards were then scattered across the fences
The skatepark in Bowdoinham had been a dream and a plan for the town for many years and completed in 2017. https://www.facebook.com/BowdoinhamCommunitySkateparkProject/
